Hi
Bill,
At least some of the K&N filters have holes in the "nut" on
the bottom
of the can that can be used to wire tie it. The hole can
be seen in
the close up photos of the K&N HP-3001 and HP-3002 on the
Summit web
site. The HP-3001 is a replacement for the PH8A. I'm
not sure how
long the PH8A is. You might want to look at the HP-2004
also.

The K&N also has a burst strength of 550 pounds. Champion and Wicks
make most of the aftermarket marked filters. Neither one will stoop to making as
poor a filter as the Fram.
Friends don't let friends use Fram. I have exploded a PH8A Fram on the race
car. Never again.
Wicks is Dana corp in Toledo Ohio.
