Subject: [FlyRotary] Autoflight reduction
drives?
Greetings,
While recently wasting
time (RV-8 is just too easy now) looking at Dominator gyro's, I ran across
this place in New Zealand. I think the used to be the "Sub-4" Subaru
folks, but at any rate, they make a nice looking redrive, and just so happen
to also make an adapter for the 13B (not listed on their web
page). I asked them about the possibility of using one of
these on a single rotor, and as it turns out, they've already sold one to a
Renesis based single rotor owner, who's putting it on a two place
Dominator.
The drive has been used
in Subaru engines up to 160 HP, so I don't know if it could be a
contender for a two rotor, but the dampener looks nice for a single, so I'll
be real interested to hear how it works
out.
Cheers,
Rusty (thinking of moving
the single rotor to a Dominator gyro)
PS- As a side note, the
RV-8 QB showed up Tuesday, and it's just great! I started the empennage
kit last Sat, and currently have the horz and vert stabs done, and the rudder
about half done. I'll have the whole empennage complete by Sat. By
the end of next weekend, I would hope to have the fuselage on gear, and the
tail mounted! Hard to imagine how anyone can take years building one of
these :-)
