Hi Rusty,  just got back from the delayed Lakeland RV fly-in.  Great fun & nice flight.  Did a maximum performance climb-out on departure which prompted the tower to ask what was under the cowl : )

With any luck, the controllers won't retire before they get to see the 20B RV-8 :-) 
 
The RD-1 input shaft spline is same as stock Ford C6 input shaft.  There were 2 versions (30 and 31 teeth).  RD-1x  uses the 30. 
 
Thanks for the info.  Do you happen to know if this same spline was used on any of the manual transmissions?

PS, I got home from the hanger today, and found the tail kit for the RV-8 open.  The bent skins came untaped, and threw the lid off the box.  I think if I wait a little longer, the parts might crawl out of there and start assembling themselves.  Gotta love those new Van's kits :-)
