Joe, my oil filter is safety wired (aircraft type with provisions for doing so), but not my dip stick. For one thing the only way my dip stick could come out is for the top of it to poke through my cowling ("Plugs Up" installation)- not too likely.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Safety Oil Filter & Dipstick?
I had a pre-DAR inspection by an EAA tech counselor and another long time
L-EZ driver last week. They both recommended that I safety wire the oil
filter and dip stick. I can see their reasoning and agree with it.but I
don't recall ever seeing it done on other rotary installations.
Anyone have any insight here? (yep, safety wiring the dip stick makes
checking the oil a little difficult - I think the point was to figure out a
way to keep if from vibrating out.
Thanx,
