I double checked the 178hp @7300 rpms. It was the 4 port automatic.
 
178 + 10 for the removal of emissions equipment.
 
188 * 1.15 = 216.2
188 * 1.20 = 225.6
 
Sounds about right.

No, Bobby,  I really do not have even a wag at HP losses in the drive train.  However, I seriously doubt its on the order of 50 HP - that much heat would fry the transmission {:>). 
 
Here's a web page that shows 15% for rear wheel drive manual, and 20% for rear wheel drive automatics.  I'm not sure how correct it is though.
