I reported the problems to the online support woman at Bellsouth, and was basically not offered any assistance beyond "a few hours delay is considered normal", and "try using web mail".

I was about to ask if you'd been using BS's web mail. I'm forced to use it when I'm away from home & it's a pitiful excuse for a mail client. BS is my ISP & I use Netscape 7.2 for both browser & email, with minimal delays. Rotary list postings usually show up within minutes.
