It wasn't meant to be. I've never had my calipers or master cylinders apart and I just don't know exactly what's inside or what material the seals are made from. Maybe someone else knows, or I'll check with Cleveland and see if they can tell me. Since my brakes are Cleveland, the o-rings may be made of a different material from yours. Supposedly, Mobile 1 ATF is the same as the Mobile 1, except it has been colored to resemble ATF. If that's true, and considering that Mobile 1 is compatible with the seals and o-rings used in automobile engines, then it would really surprise me if it wasn't compatible with the brake o-rings too. I need to do some more digging here.=20 Mark -----Original Message----- From: Rotary motors in aircraft [mailto:flyrotary@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of Ernest Christley Sent: Tuesday, December 06, 2005 3:28 PM To: Rotary motors in aircraft Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Brake Fire Photo Mark R Steitle wrote: >The o-rings, or whatever is in the calipers and/or brake cylinders. > =20 > 8*) I mean...What are the seals made of that they are compatible?=20 Matco brakes use BunaN seals (I'm pretty sure I'm remembering that=20 correctly), but I don't think that is a universal material. Mine are=20 brand new, and I don't fancy ripping them apart to replace brand new=20 seals. Matco recommends the flammible stuff, or the 83282A (which I=20 think will be good enough). --=20 ,|"|"|, | ----=3D=3D=3D<{{(oQo)}}>=3D=3D=3D---- Dyke Delta | o| d |o www.ernest.isa-geek.org | -- Homepage: http://www.flyrotary.com/ Archive and UnSub: http://mail.lancaironline.net/lists/flyrotary/
