Most interesting, I was not aware of the D585. I had a failure of a
D581 which I attributed to the higher under cowl temps I got with the Renesis
(vs 2nd gen 13B). In my quest to keep the coils cool I ran into many
other mysteries but that is an unfinished story for later.
Tracy
Bob, the only advantage I can see to the D585 is the metal heat
sink might make it less susceptible to high under the cowl temps. I
recall losing my leading ignition coil early on due to the fact that a
resistor in its base apparently could not take the continuos high rpm load
and heat. But, if no one is having problems with the D581 then
probably nothing to be gained.
