The OAT finally dropped out of the 100s to the high 80= s!=20 At just under 90F OAT I was able to climb at WOT, 120 mph to 9000 msl, an= d never got to 200F on the coolant (Oil even less). Cowl flap was at mid-position. As it turns out, the flap is hard to CLOSE after it gets about 2/3 closed. I guess the flow is trying to open it at that point, because the only way to close it is to pull the nose up and slow to 80 or less, retract the flap and lock it! Cruise speed is the same whether it = is fully closed or about 1/3 open.=0D =0D Next step is a change of linkage. Thinking of using a threaded rod run b= y an electric screwdriver!
