It can be done, Perry, but this lets you use one of the mounting bolts for the starter, which keeps the plate from being to bulky(read that as less weight,1/2" 6061 T-6 is heavy, I wanted to keep the weight close to the same as the stock plate. I drew it several different ways, but this turned out to be the cleanest design, because you have to consider all the different cooling configurations it will be used on. See it in actual use on Rusty Duffy's RV-3R(Customer Projects on my site). It has to work for everyone, so there has to be some compromises. Fred

Fred, I like it at the 7 to 8 o'clock position as it is in the 2nd gen car, there is nothing else there in front of (behind) the starter except spark plugs. When you put it at the 4 o'clock position you get in the intake/exhaust area. Can you make a SP-2 with it at the 8 o'clock position?
