Uughhh... I really hope you're wrong about this. Mine cools great on the
ground. Define "full throttle" in terms of length of time? I've gone to full
throttle for about 8 seconds with 6 psi boost, just to test it, however I
normally limit it to 0psi boost or 30" MAP. At this I've done static run-ups
for up to a minute. I've taxied around for 45 minutes at various power
settings and never seen more than 90C on the coolant and 85C on the oil.
I hope it's not a wind bag in the air.
If I ever get it inspected I might find out. I wish I could get your
southern DAR to come up here. I haven't even been able to get an inspector
up here yet. Our inspections are done by a private organization called MD-RA
and they don't like any modifications to the original plans. They want me to
get an approval letter from Van's for all my mods. When I told them that
this has a snowballs chance in hell of ever happening, they told me that my
best alternative is to call it something other than an RV and submit it as
my own design. It's already registered as an RV with Transport Canada, so I
would have to redo all this. I'm considering this, but I have a suspicion
that it would ultimately cause me more headache. I'm not real patient with
all this bureaucracy stuff, so I'm having a real hard time keeping cool with
them. I'm tempted to accidentally taxi just a little too fast :-)
If I do rename it I think I'll go with RX-9endurance. What do you guy's
think? I've already got that on my webpage, but it was never a serious name
for it. Looks like it might be now. Wonder if I can claim the rights to that
before Mazda does? :-)
