Now I have my engine running I'm giving the autotune a whirl. I got the EGO sensor hot, tuned to track mode, switched to EC2 mode 9 and set the throttle for about 20 MAP. Something definitely seemed to be happening, but it was unclear exactly what. I worked through the MAP range up to about 30 trying to move from one bar to the next on the display, then hold still. How long do I need to hold each MAP setting? I found that below about 17 MAP the engine went into a surge routine so the MAP wouldn't stay still and I don't think the autotune had a chance to do its job. Should I richen it manually if this happens? After a few minutes of this I left the autotune on and did some high speed taxiing and a runup, then the temps got a bit high. On the next run of the engine, with autotune off, it seems smoother and the idle is fine at about 1100. It's consistent through the rpm range, and I'm getting a slightly higher static than I used to get. One strange thing - I notice a pink powder on the outside of the exhaust that accumulates over time. Anyone seen this? Any thoughts or hints on autotuning would be appreciated. John
