Him,

   Unless you are going to buy a pre-built engine from a major 
builder, get the Bruce Turrentine tape (also available from 
Tracy.)  

   Come to think of it, even if you don't intend to take 
the engine apart, the tape will help you better understand 
the engine, get it anyway.
