Hello everyone, I'm the new kid on the block and seriously looking at rotary power for my BD-4 project

Hi Jim. Welcome to the list. Seems like we have at least one other BD-4 guy on the list if I'm not mistaken, so that could be a real help. Tracy's book is a good start, but it's getting a bit dated, particularly since we now have the Renesis engines available. Your budget, and desire to get your hands dirty will likely determine what route you take on the engine.
