Hold on a sec. There ARE two. At least in the 3rd gen. One gets triggered once per rotation and the other multiple time per rotation. Couldn't the ECU do something with the remaining trigger if the other were lost. Approximate or something??? John (too busy thinking about failure modes to go and fail anything)
