For this I am thankful. Also, in the past week, I have distributed a mass email to most if not all of the interested parties asking for persons to volunteer to take lead on or participate in certain roles that could fall within the groups proposed mission. I also left the floor open to modify, remove or add any of the proposed roles that I have suggested. With the exception of two persons who volunteered in the open forum to participate in a general way, those calls for active participation have left unanswered (in the form of saying "I want to be part of such-and-such focus group") In the absence of active participation and volunteerism, for whatever reason, the group will not be able to obtain its proposed goals. As someone said... "it will fizzle" and unless and until more persons are willing (and able) to commit time to making it an active success, the "group" will have to remain as a "well intentioned idea that is yet to be implemented". I will take the information I have so far, integrate it as best as possible to Dave Leonard's Rotary Roster, so that others who are looking for either geographical or type-specific resources will be able to benefit from an updated "list" of rotary guys. I will also continue to be open to suggestions regarding a Rotary Type Group and be willing to participate in making it a success, but I will not foreseably be able to be the "sole resource" in its implementation, and I did not intend to be such when I proposed its formation. Many of the goals that I discussed I will address on a personal basis, and anything that I develop will be available for peer review, critique and shared use, but much of what I develop will be specific to my aircraft and engine combination. Let me know if you do NOT want your name, aircraft, contact info, or hometown included on the rotary roster that is already in existence within the next 7 days, and I will remove it from the update that I will send to the Rotary Roster webmaster.
