Just got back from the fly-in and if you haven't been to one of Charlie
& Tupper's events you don't know what you missed. They both go the 2nd
& 3rd mile to assure that everyone has a comfortable & enjoyable
time - Laura and I sure did. The tour of David Mars' hangar alone was
worth the trip.
The RVotter logged another 7 hours including one short adrenaline
assisted flight with Monty Roberts in the back seat. We were doing a high
speed pass down the runway when one of the prop cuffs decided it had had enough
abuse and started to separate from the spinner. The sudden vibration
had us instantly thinking of wing flutter. Removed both cuffs and all was
well. Cost us a little speed and higher temps on the way home but all went
well as we cruised at 11,000 (Laura's limit) with a 25 mph tailwind.
Eat your heart out Ed!
It was great seeing all you fellow rotor heads there & can't wait to do
it all over again somewhere - someday. Thanks again Charlie &
Tupper.
