 Hi! Rusty
There is an after market kit available which includes  mounting plate & cover for the unit. the ratio ranges from 19:1 to 5:1.The drive clutch is mounted on a 3/4" shaft> the shipping weight is 13lbs, the last price I have is under $500.00 CDN . I have used some of this companies' products & found them to be of good quality. My catalogue is dated so I'd have to check on current price & availability.

Hi Rusty;

Sorry for the long delay in getting this back to you, but I was hoping to have time to go down to one of the snowmobile shops and get you prices on new & used primary & secondary pulleys as well as the weights.I've just been too busy at school and when I'm home on the weekend I just haven't had time. I was going to remove the pulleys to weigh them, but the front pulley requires a special bolt to pull them which I used to have, but apparently I loaned it out and I don't know who has it. So I've attached a few pictures of the 2 pulleys on a sled to give you an idea. From memory, I'm going to guess that the combined weight would be approx 15 lbs. The new cost should be approx $1000CAD, but used I could probably find the pair used for a few hundred bucks or less. Sorry this isn't more accurate, but if from the pics you decide that you're still interested I will get precise info when I finish school this year. FWIW, I think this should work well, however they are no secret so I'd expect that somebody must have tried it already and we haven't seen any around yet soo....

Todd

Thanks Todd.  Very interesting.  Can you guess what one of these CVT's would weigh, and what you could get a new, or good used one for?  There aren't a lot of snowmobile salvage yards where I live :-)
