I think it was an ingenious way to make a rotary look like a radial even if
inefficient. *IF* I was to do this, I would use the radial coolers for
coolant only and use the stock oil cooler possibly at the cowl exit, which
wouldn't be most efficient but would be much safer. But I think I would have
to be really wanting rotary power combined with a nostalgic look in order to
justify this as I think it would be heavier and less efficient than a more
conventional rotary cooling set-up. But it would be cool :-)
However as much as I hate to admit it, I believe that the cost of building
a Moose would probably force me to consider resale value, dictating that I
use the Russian Radial engine as this brings a very high return on your
investment. Comparatively speaking of course.... I'd really be better off to
just save & invest, but that's just not my way, as it's never about the
money.
