Joe Norris is my tech counselor.  I've know him for several years. He GETS experimental avaition.  He is presently building an aircraft with a non Lycosaurus engine. It is very hard to endorse something you are not familiar with and flown behind.  He has seen my 20bt, and Tracy's drive. He liked Tracy's drive. Until I or someone else can give him a ride on an engine that has some serious hours on it, he will probably still be skeptical.  In the big picture of all of the "new and better" engines that have come and mostly gone, he is right. I want him to be my DAR when the I'm ready to fly.

Joe probably doesn't realize how many rotaries are being installed in lots of different aircraft.  Maybe the number of drives, EC2's and Ems Tracy and Dave Atkins have sold would help.

If there were some way we could get Joe and Tracy together for a one on one on rotaries to include a  ride in "otter".....

Subject: [FlyRotary] EAA Tech Counselors

I received a note back Cy Galley and Joe Norris at EAA.  Joe stated that they have a note of Tech Counselors who are listed as auto engine qualified, but don't have a break down on which types of auto engines.  So it sounds like the EAA isn't busting down any doors to advance the use of auto engines.  JohnD
