Bob Are you considering doing the harness for the EM-2 as well?

Actually, yes... I would consider it... more than anything else because I "HATE" soldering those 15 and 37 pin connectors. In my case, I would have to get back to you on wire lengths, because I intend to use Cannon Plugs at the Firewall to be able to remove/install the harness for engine removal/swaps. On the velocity, we will have the Engine Controller on the aft firewall, inside the passenger compartment. We do not have the EM2 (havent ordered it yet) but I understand now that there is not a "separate" brain anymore, and that would be a long run from the front panel to the aft bulkhead. I'm contemplating offering prewired cables for Tracy's EC2. I've been
in the electronics field for over 40 years so soldering and cabling are
easy for me.
I would prewire the 15 and 37 pin connectors to your specified length.
Other wires would be long enough to be cut off and terminated by you.
Wires would be tefzel (M22759/16) or better and each wire would be
clearly marked. Everything would be done to the specs in Tracy's
manual.
Using my installation as a reference, I would make the unterminated
wires that go under the insturment panel 5 feet long and those going to
the engine compartment 10 feet long. Length from the 15 pin
connector to the 37 pin connector is 36 inches. Based on that, the cost
would be $95 but this would be adjusted for different lenght
requirements. These lengths should leave enough wire for most
installations.
Also, for the canard community, I would be willing to cable anything up
to your specifications, but because of the long runs and sensitivity to
noise I wouldn't want to gurantee sucess in using the cable.
Is there any interest in such a service?
