Help. This is a problem that I never did resolve
almost two years ago in my rotary marine engine.
The engine did start and run fine in preparation
for putting it into service this year. The next time I tried a start it didn't
catch but when I turn off the starter switch the solonoid sticks in continuing
to crank the engine. The only way to stop it is to use the master disconnect.
When I brought this up last time a couple of guys
suggested the solonoid contacts be cleaned up.
Sounds good but can someone tell me how you get at
them? As far as I can see the black plastic end is crimped on to the solonoid
body. So my conclusion is this is not a repairable item.
Next problem is How do I specify which solonoid I
need. I have three starters here and each has a different solonoid body. Any
ideas will be much appreciated.
Tomorrow I'll give Jon Lauter a call at Rotary
Power marine for his input.
