This is a problem that I never did resolve almost two years ago in = my rotary marine engine. The engine did start and run fine in preparation for putting it into = service this year. The next time I tried a start it didn't catch but = when I turn off the starter switch the solonoid sticks in continuing to = crank the engine. The only way to stop it is to use the master = disconnect.=20 When I brought this up last time a couple of guys suggested the solonoid = contacts be cleaned up. Sounds good but can someone tell me how you get at them? As far as I can = see the black plastic end is crimped on to the solonoid body. So my = conclusion is this is not a repairable item. Next problem is How do I specify which solonoid I need. I have three = starters here and each has a different solonoid body. Any ideas will be = much appreciated.
