I installed my latest iteration intake manifold today, and it works!

I picked up 300 rpm static (4600 to 4900). Climbing at 120 IAS, rpm went
from 4800 to 5100. All of this at OAT over 100 F. Definitely more snap
in the takeoff and climb.

I will send more photos in separate e-mails to avoid being blocked!

My goals included getting it to fit under the cowl (did I mention I hate fibreglass work?), miss the oil filler tube and get the runners near the correct length.

Now I have so much power that the cooling can't keep up, so I am trying to
expand my cowl exit area. Even with the cowl flap completely removed, the
exit/intake ratio is only 1.05. My resident experts suggest 1.2 to 1.5. I
REALLY don't want to whack that painted cowl, so I will try other ways to
make it think it is bigger.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Bill Eslick
