I saved the throttle bodies on 2 of em... just in case... but I chunked many many pounds of cast AL on the presumption that I would be getting Bruce's intake when it became available. Bad Move. The Turretine Intake will interfere with the turbocharger (when installed).. so.. I am back to square one. I guess I will be pulling an Ed (Anderson) and taking a portion of a stock lower intake manifold and using it as a 90 degree turn/flange for me to mount aluminum tubing into, and then have that merge into a stock throttle body. So.. if anyone has a stock 4 port 89-92 lower intake layin around and wants to part with it, let me know. I will take one off your hands so that I can start building my intake. On a side note, I am leaning towards the stock throttle body because of an idea I have.. Several folks have mentioned issues with low MP/low power idle.. and I believe part of that can be solved by using the stock TB (or a stock 20B TB). When you actuate the stock mazda TB.. the primary throttle opens a bit before the two secondary throttle plates even budge. The net effect of this is, at very low power settings, air is entering only through the primary ports, and the fuel (when staged) is only entering through the primary port injectors. Most of the intake arrangements (not all) that I've seen are using one big TB.. so ALL the ports are getting airflow, when at low RPM this can be counterproductive (lower airflow velocities through multiple paths, rather than higher through a single path). Those using multiple small TB's on individual runners can mimic the stock TB in this manner by adjusting the linkages to the primary runners to open first. Anyways,, Take a look around the garage or hangar and see if you can help me out. I will pay shipping and a reasonable price for the part. Dave Staten
