Speaking of temporary gauges, the tach output of the AC-2 is
supposed to be 12 pulses per revolution. I’m assuming that’s
something that’s used only for the EIS, and not for normal tachs.
Do you just tap into a fuel injection, or ignition lead for normal tach
pulses?
Sorry to talk to myself here, but I think I
just realized that I don’t need to hook up a temporary tach. I have
an optical tach, and should be able to read the prop RPM from the cockpit (I
did this to verify the tach on my previous RV-8). I’ll just have to
do the math. I’m still a little curious where you hook up a regular
tach to the engine.
