In a C- 210 over Kingston, TN late one evening. Stuffed a bunch of feathers and duck guts in the cowling around the oil cooler, and left a bloody trail over the wind shield. No real damage at the time, (except for the seat cushion and clothing) but the wind shield had to be replace 6 months later due to a crack. So anything is possible, and nothing is guaranteed, all we can do is mitigate the failure modes as best we can, and hope the plane is light enough to fly. Bob Perkinson Hendersonville, TN.
