Hi! Guys
I've only been on this forum for a short time, but I'm really impressed with the group's genuine interest & concern regarding Ed's engine problem. Compared to some other forums that I have visited this is an interesting & pleasant Group. On the bugs in the intake & windshield, in 1977 I was on a training flight with my instructor (ex Israeli fighter pilot) wanted to show me a group of seals on a nearby beach. On our way down we hit a flock of Mallard ducks, ingested one in the left bank of the family Grumman Tiger, a second knocked of the OAT pick-up from the center of the windshield and an other hit the left wing root. The results: the instructor wasn't liable because I had signed a waiver, the left wing had to be replaced ($2500.00 US in 1977) I cleaned duck guts for a week BUT we didn't ingest any ducks in the O-360's carb I guess it had a good air filter. wan't need an air filter on the Christavia, we don't have gravel above the lake surface in Canada.
