Bill,
    I am highly interested in the prop you are using make, pitch and diameter.  My engine will hit 6100-6200 rpm at 3000 msl but my top speed is limited to 196 MPH TAS with my 68x72 Performance propeller.  Trying to figure how your are going faster tunring your prop slower.  Could be I need to clean up the airframe a bit.

What was the difference in engine rpm at top speed Bill?

Tracy

==================================================

Here is all the info:

With muffler, WOT at 3000 msl gives about 5350 rpm, 180 mph true.  (156 knots)

Without, WOT at 3000 msl gives about 5820 rpm, 206 mph true.  (179 knots)

OAT was 30 C.

Tracy, the 120 mph climb rpm was 4800 with the muffler,  4880 without it.

Bill
