She suggested that I might be going lean at high power because I'm running 4 * 550 injectors instead of the stock 2 * 550 and 2 * 850. I hit a "brick wall" in the power curve at a certain rpm beyond which I get a "stutter" feeling which listeners on the ground report as a "popping" sound. I've been thinking this is the edge of detonation and avoiding it. Maybe it is, but perhaps it's because the injectors have topped out rather than because of excess boost.

Hi John,

If the calculators are correct, four 550's should get you into the high 200's for HP at least.  Of course you have to do your part by making sure the mixture is correct.

From the sound of the symptoms, it could be rich, just as much as lean.  Wouldn't the simple answer be to look at your O2 readout?  If you don't have an O2 sensor, then there's no point in wasting one of those auto tune chips on you :-)

Cheers,
Rusty (still don't believe four 38 lb/hr injectors will get me to top end)
