       David your local "Walmart" has quick drains with the 14mm,1.5
    thread.....

    about $12 to $15.......Do not remember for sure........FWIW

additionally,
You should obviously go with your personal comfort level, but all the FAA-certified a/c engine quickdrains I've seen on Lycs are spring loaded shut just like fuel sump quickdrains & I've never noticed any provision for safety wire on the mechanism. I don't trust my memory on whether the nut itself has safety wire provisions.
