Hi Joe,

It does capture the essence of what I was suggesting.   There were other design features I had in mind too.

(One of which would allow the concept to work with fuel-injection.)

Primarily, besides minimizing runners, I was thinking to minimize the twists-n- sharp-turns of the airflow from the outside air into the intake ports.     So the plenum shape is either:

) Wedged shaped (as viewed from above) with the throttle-body on the forward end, just like they have on ebay (http://i10.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/9e/4e/12_12_sb.JPG).  The airflow approaches the intake ports at not so much a 90-degree angle.

- or -

) Triangle shaped (as viewed from above) with the throttle-body mounted at the apex opposite the intake ports.  Being so close to the cowl's side wall makes it possible to just grab the air from a scoop or NACA thing on the cowl side and run it into the throttle-body.  Fitting an air filter in there appropriately.

-or-

) modified triangle to try to deal with DIE, skipping details

Tom

Do you mean like this (see attached).  Fence post extrusion with carb on top.
