Rusty - I am going to have to extend my cowl something like 4".  I was
thinking about adding a flange to the firewall rather than the cowling,
since I trust my AL work way more than my fiberglass.  Perhaps you could do
something similar.

Hi Kevin,  I already have about a 1.5" flange on the firewall, and it is in the way at times, so I'm pretty sure I won't extend it any further, though I understand the desire to make this an aluminum job, rather than a fiberglass job :-)

Kevin Lane (thinking outside the, uhmmm, cowling, although your cowlings
sometimes look more like, well, never mind!))

No telling what the new cowl mods will look like.  The rear of the new oil cooler is way down there, so Bernie will get that increase in exit area he's be whining about.  This gives me the ability to blame the looks on him :-)

Cheers,

Rusty (shouldn't be that bad)
