The listserver doesn't do anything to the body of the message, it simply sends along whatever was received with whatever formatting was embedded. Most email programs simply apply formatting locally in order to wrap the body text to the screen to take care of these issues. My webmail reader does not, so I see the messages extending to the length of the line, sort of like a paragraph at a time. When I open the same messages in Eudora it autowraps to my window size. Other messages with embedded word wrapping match the senders' formatting. FWIW
