I use Redline WW . I just about had the temps. under control before trying
it and found that it helped on hot days. The coolant temperature rising
towards my redline at 100C less rapidly. No freezing problem here. Tip.
Don't use a thermostat.

===> Thanks for the comments on the Water Wetter additive. It's been a
while since I've seen the thermostat topic discussed. I know that several
of you like Ed, and maybe Ian, Tracy, etc, had tried running with and
without thermostats. Is there a consensus of which cools the best?
I planned to install a normal 180 thermostat, in fact I just tested it on
the stove to make sure it worked, but now you've got me thinking about
whether I should put it in. Of course if I don't, I have to plug that hole
somehow. Can that be done with the housing bolted in place on the engine?
For my initial attempt, especially since I'm using two water/oil exchangers,
I want maximum cooling. If I should be so lucky as to have too much cooling
(yeah, right), then I'll certainly have options to reduce the efficiency of
the system.
Thanks in advance for any thermostat advice. I was just about to install
the thing, but maybe I'll hold off a couple days.
Cheers,
Rusty
