I tried Redline Water Wetter back in the early days when I was disperate
to get the oil and coolant temps down. While others (in car useage) had
reported dramatic (10F) drops, I could not detect it making any difference
in my system. Didn't hurt, didn't help.

===> Even if it didn't lower the temp, it would be worth adding for the
corrosion additives alone. Normally you get that sort of protection from
the antifreeze, but it you're running distilled water, you need some
additives.
The other thing that the car guys are nuts about is Evan's coolant. Best I
can tell, it's a pure antifreeze liquid that you don't dilute with water.
The down side is that it isn't nearly as good as pure water at removing
heat, so your temps tend to run higher. The good news is that it boils at
something like 370 degrees, so it ain't gonna boil in your engine. When you
run this stuff, you either run a non-pressurized system, or a very low (5-7
lb) pressure. Of course if you're using an oil/water heat exchanger like I
am, Evan's would be exactly the wrong thing to use.
Thanks,
Rusty
