I am doing Track &Balance on helicopters ocassionally and virtually all tolerances are 0.2 IPS (inch per second acceleration), though we try to get them as low as possible. E.g. The cooling fan on a R-44, which is directly mounted to the engine crankshaft (Lyc-540), I will get easily to 0.02, sometimes to 0.015 IPS. Just wondered what a Rotary requires and what you recommend. Cheers, Thomas J. ------=_NextPart_000_009F_01C50142.9055AB50 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Hello everyone,

Question, mainly to Leon:

What are the balance values the = maintenance/overhaul=20 manual requires and what values to you go for and get?

I am doing Track &Balance on helicopters = ocassionally=20 and virtually all tolerances are 0.2 IPS (inch per second acceleration), = though=20 we try to get them as low as possible.
E.g. The cooling fan on a R-44, which is = directly mounted=20 to the engine crankshaft (Lyc-540), I will get easily to 0.02, = sometimes to=20 0.015 IPS.

Just wondered what a Rotary requires and what = you=20 recommend.

Cheers,

Thomas J.
