The demonstration tents were the first places I'd ever struck an arc, but after watching some folks that were pretty good at it, I quickly decided the Lincoln was better adapted to doing very fine (i.e. low current) welding on thin materials. I've since used it on Aluminum, steel shapes, and thin sheet steel. I used it to weld several continuous fillets on 16 gauge and 22 gauge steel sheet when making an oil pan, and was very pleased with the results. Turns out that with a little practice, even I could make a pretty decent fillet. My 25 cents worth... Tom Kendall
