The original prop was a 64 x 78.  I replaced it with a 62 x 72, same manufacturer. Should take less power to swing it, which one would expect more rpm’s?  Paul Conner

I agree.  Did you do anything else to the engine since the last time you recorded a max rpm?  I just can't imagine not getting any more rpm with a smaller prop.  The only thing I can think of is to check the MicroTech for a rev limiter setting.   From the info I can get on Google, it appears to have a hard and soft rev limit setting that's programmable.  You wouldn't think that any unit set up for a rotary engine would default to a low setting like that, but it's worth checking.

Good luck,

Rusty (still more decisions)

Hi, Rusty….I made absolutely NO changes other than bolting on the smaller prop.  You are correct in that the MicroTech ECU has a hard and soft rev limiting feature….I will get back into the manual and see what I can learn.  Hmmmm….very interesting….No, very frustrating.  On the one hand, I liked the MicroTech from day one because it was easy to install, the engine fired up immediately on first try with the factory default settings, and it has lots of features.  Unfortunately, lots of features can be a blessing OR a nuisance.  Paul, back to the instruction manual, Conner
