Maybe I'd like to use output of my "knock sensor" to somehow kill the trailing plugs as an "automatic" response to detonation. Since few or none of us are using an ECU with "active/variable ignition timing" (our computer won't retard spark like happens in late model cars), this seems like a non-drastic "equivalent to" approach.
