On the plugs subject have you heard of NGK SD10 A and 11 A.? > Ian > Hi Ian, No, I have not tried stainless steel shavings, however, I did get some stainless steel scrub pads and stuffed around a dozen into the tubes back a year or more ago. They lasted a couple of weeks. They did not surcum to the heat, but the shock wave pounded them into small 1/4" lengths and blew them out the end. However, I suspect they did not have the structural integrity of a strip of stainless steel shavings, so, if I can locate a source, I'll give it a try. It appears that several materials (including the stainless steel shavings) can hold up to the temperature of the exhaust but most of those seem to have trouble with the shock of the exhaust pulse. Onward with experimentation, but first, to Sun & Fun. Ed Anderson
