Does anyone have an accurate drawing of the stock engine mount for the RV-7? A CAD drawing would be even better.

The reason I ask is that I am planning to design and build my own engine mount, and I would like to "reverse engineer" the stock engine mount.

In addition to simply copying the location of the gear sockets, etc, my plan is to do the structural analysis (FEA) on the stock mount to see how strong it is and what loads it was designed to take with the stock engine.

While it would probably be possible for me to borrow a stock mount from someone at my local EAA club, mechanical drawings would be much easier than painstakingly measuring each dimension and drawing it all from scratch.

If you haven't done it already, I'd at least make the call to Van's. The rotary seems to be the only alt. engine he's not totally opposed to, so he just might be willing to send you the real thing.
