Looking back in the Contact Magazine, issue 25, the article on Ron Gowans'
Long EZ, he has a very simple exhaust. With plugs up, the headers exit to
the rear and the ends are capped off. It appears that the last 4 inches of
the pipes have 1/2" holes drilled in the sides of the pipes and a common
shroud of oval shape is covering the holes at approximately 1/2" clearance
from the pipes. It is stated that this works well. Is anyone familiar with
this aircraft. If it works
it sure is simple.
I pulled the engine tonight to rework the engine mount to install the
oil cooler like Jim Weir has his installed. I hope we are having fun and
this project will bark by the end of January. JohnD
