I am using 2 1/8" dia .035 wall thickness 304 SS.  Forgot to mention that each 4 foot muffler weighs 6 lbs 8 oz.

Wow, I figured it would be less than that, even in the early stage.  My Spintech weighs 14 lbs, and the rest of the pipe from the firewall back probably adds another 5-6 lbs.  Perhaps this could amount to a 10 lb savings, if you can reduce the weight as you hope.

My headers already come together into a nice 2.5" (I think) pipe prior to the muffler.  I used a two piece ball type coupler, which means I could buy another coupler, and weld it up to a new pipe-muffler, then just bolt it onto the existing header.  I'll be interested to see how yours works out.

By the way, Rusty, do you think you might try to make the RV flyin at LakeLand in Jan??

Good question... hadn't even thought about it.   I'll have to check the work calendar, but I'm already skeptical.  I work with a bunch of Bambi killers, who live for deer season.  There usually isn't a Monday or Friday open during hunting season.  As an aside, the ones who don't hunt, fish.  I joke with them that I need to find a hobby that involves killing something, and they point out that I already have a hobby that involves trying to kill myself :-)
