Take a look at the set up on the below links. Several options for eliminating the water pump neck.

I been running their WP336 pump since July, but I made my own adapter plate.

My winter project is to build a PMW controller for the fans which will also
switch the pump on and off and keep both the pump and fans running when the car
is shut-off hot (until a preset temp).  I have the circuit designed and the
IC's, but need to find time to solder up the board.
