The additional alum. mount plate has a large diameter round section removed from center. The 86-91 (2nd generation auto trans. housing) is relatively light compared to the Cosmo housing which is a very massive casting. The Cosmo housing is much stronger I am sure. Does your weight include the starter, harmonic damper, etc? Tracy's RD1X redrives are said to weigh about 42 lbs not including flexplate and starter. -- Kelly Troyer Dyke Delta/13B/RD1C/EC2 -------------- Original message from echristley@nc.rr.com: -------------- > Kelly, > > How much does your total gear setup weigh (engine > forward). Ernest,

I have not weighed the complete assembly but my guess is

about 50 lbs +/-. The additional alum. mount plate has a large

diameter round section removed from center. The 86-91 (2nd

generation auto trans. housing) is relatively light compared to

the Cosmo housing which is a very massive casting. The Cosmo

housing is much stronger I am sure. Does your weight include

the starter, harmonic damper, etc? Tracy's RD1X redrives are

said to weigh about 42 lbs not including flexplate and starter.
