Subject: RE: [FlyRotary] Re: MAP pulses (20B)
Al,
It sounds
like you have one of your Primary injectors
sticking or stuck
closed.
After sitting for a long time I had both Primary injectors
stick
closed.
The engine would start and run as long as the cold start
was
on.
As soon as the cold start was turned off it would die.
Test
each injector statically to see if it clicks when power
is
applied.
I'll probably go ahead and do the test, but I don't think
that's it. When I
turn the secondary off the mixture is too rich. I
have to lean quite a bit,
and then as the mixture bar gets about mid-scale,
it begins to act like it's
too lean - some surging or whatever. Just
kind of strange.
Thanks,
Al
Be sure to remember that an imbalance in mixture between rotors can cause
an erroneous mixture reading if you are reading it after the collector (which
most are). Many builders have tried to tune mixture with one
rotor not running at all which is of course hopeless. Check
EGTs for clues to mixture imbalance.
