too bad I couldn't loan you my foot operated sledge hammer powered dimpler.  it makes skin dimpling go real fast since both hands are free to manipulate the skins.
I was given some samples of 3M double sided tape that looked great for taping stiffeners.  the airline industry uses it too.  of course the down side is it costs something like a $1/inch.  I agree though that the ole mechanical fastener seems real fail safe.

I would think if you can salvage the rudder spar, that would save a lot of work in getting the new one to fit.

Hi Kevin,

I think I'll skip the glue, but I will be salvaging the skeleton of both the aileron, and rudder.  In fact, the new skins just got delivered a few minutes ago by FedEx Saver (cheaper than 3 day UPS apparently).   At first, I thought it would be easier to make a new skeleton, since there were so many holes to match, but when I looked at the plans, I remembered that all those holes in the middle are just skin stiffeners.  I just have to decide now if it's easier to bring home the tools, and do it here, or do it at the hanger.

Thanks,
Rusty (got skins)
