I also wish them luck.....Mistral hopes to have
their engine certified. Should that happen, it could certaintly compete with the
Lycoming. My problem is that I have heard so many horror stories of people
laying down their hard earned cash for an engine that is "soon to be released",
and getting nothing. ATP turbine is the latest. A couple of Velocity
builders got burned bad. One builder put 15 thousand dollars down toward the 300
horsepower version of the ATP turbine, and when the delivery date came, he found
that the 15thousand deposit (that was supposed to go into an escrow account) had
been spent, and they are not going to produce the 300 hp version. Sorry,
no refunds are available.
I
need to see more satisfied customers before I put a deposit down on an engine
that will be available in the near future. I like cash and carry.
Just my opinion. Paul Conner

Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: Mistral Engines
for sale
I wish them
luck, but I'll be surprised if they sell too many engines at those
prices. I was critical of Powersports for pricing their engine at
$20+k, because it was the same price as a new Lycoming at the time.
Eventually, if the engine is proven to be everything they claim, particularly
wrt the 3000 hour TBO, they might sway some Ly-Cont
followers.
