No need to wonder. Actually an indent is machined in the housing up to the outlet to improve on the friction pumping action of the ring gear.

In any case, the incoming oil will push oil out the outlets and uphill if needed.

And just in case someone missed this point: No restriction orifice is needed in the oil inlet line to any of Tracy's PSRUs, unlike the Ross PSRUs. So if converting from Ross to RWS, remove the 0.035" restriction!

The lowest drain port on the drive is under the gear set.  I’m wondering if rotation of the ring gear would cause some “pumping” action to force the oil out the drain.
